Description
Unofficially formed in 1845 following the establishment of the State of Rosalia, the Rosalia State Militia was founded to protect and defend the liberties and freedoms of every Citizen of the State. The Rosalia State Militia was reorganized in 1903 with the passage of the Militia Act and further organized in 1916 with the passage of the National Defense Act. The reorganization in 1916 led to the renaming of the State Militia, which is now known as the Rosalia National Guard. The National Guard is commanded by the Governor, serving as the Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard. In turn, the Governor appoints a Major General to oversee the standards and battle readiness of the National Guard in civil disobedience, rioting, or foreign threats to the State. Conscription is illegal and not enforced.
