════════════════⚜❖⚜════════════════ The Ryland family can trace their roots back to 11th century England. Their topographical surname was first bequeathed to them in recognition of their tireless rye farming by the King. Following the conclusion of the American Revolution, and the political instability Britain was facing, the Ryland’s immigrated to the United States where they purchased seventy acres of prime farming land in the south. In 1785, under the leadership of Thomas Ryland II an elegant Greek Revival mansion was constructed, to be known as ‘Twin Oaks’.
