Description
UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, is a global organization that works in over 190 countries and territories to protect the rights and well-being of every child. It was founded in 1946 to help children affected by World War II, and today it focuses on issues like health, education, protection, and emergency aid. UNICEF provides life-saving vaccines, clean water, food, and education to children, especially in crisis zones. It also fights child poverty, prevents violence and exploitation, and supports mental health services. Funded by donations, UNICEF works with governments, local communities, and other partners to create long-term solutions for children in need. Its work is based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. UNICEF’s goal is to ensure every child can survive, grow, learn, and be safe—no matter who they are or where they live.
