Description
Manchukuo was a Japanese puppet state. Japan seized the land in 1931 after the Mukden Incident and installed a pro-japanese government a year later in 1932. The puppet state came to a end in 1945 during the Soviet invasion of Manchuria in the closing days of WWII. Despite the nations name, the Manchu people formed a minority in Manchukuo. Han chinese and Japanese were the largest ethnicities in Manchukuo but there was a large number of Mongols, Koreans, and Russians that immigrated to Manchuria during the Russian Civil War.
