Description
The Men of Valor were founded in the Disputed Lands during the long peace of King Jaehaerys I, formed from exiled knights, discharged men-at-arms, and Free City veterans who chose discipline over desperation. Unlike many companies of the age, they bound themselves by strict articles of war: contracts were to be honored, captives spared for ransom, and plunder taken only by lawful share. This code earned them steady employ guarding caravans and fighting border wars for the Free Cities, and their word became as trusted as their steel. Their honor was proven at great cost during a bitter battle with the Maiden’s Men, whom they defeated after refusing to break formation or fall to treachery. Though bloodied and reduced, the Men of Valor marched on with their banner intact, known across the Disputed Lands as sellswords who kept faith even when gold and survival tempted otherwise.
