Légion Britannique #404688332
Description
The Légion Britannique was a British funded Hanoverian force attached to the Hanoverian Army of Observance protecting the Rhine river from French encroachments. Although they often were assigned garrison duty, they served in many engagements and patrols. The Légion Britannique consisted of 5 line battalions, 1 dragoon squadron, and a selection of Artillery Batteries. The regiment was overseen by Field Marshal Duke Ferdinand of Brunswick, which was a rare feet for a sovereign of another nation to be directly commissioned into the British Army.
