Description

𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐮𝐱𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐬 - 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬 The Missouri Invincibles were organized in 1835 in the state of Missouri as a volunteer company composed of American citizens who entered Texian service during the Texas Revolution. Raised from frontier communities along the western border, the company reflected the martial culture of the region, with many of its members experienced in militia service and accustomed to irregular warfare. Like other auxiliary units, the Invincibles traveled to Texas independently and were incorporated into the Texian army under the authority of the Provisional Government, retaining much of their original leadership and organization. Their service illustrates the role of western volunteer companies in strengthening the revolutionary forces, particularly during the early phases of the conflict before the development of a formal and standardized military establishment under the Republic of Texas. 1835-1836
