Venice | La Serenissima Cohors #414630187
Description
La Serenissima Cohors was established as the successor to the Venetian Espionage Network, reorganized to strengthen the Republic’s hidden hand in war and politics. Formed to operate where open force could not, the Cohors served as the Republic’s special mission unit. Loyal only to the Doge, its members carried out highly dangerous and secret operations: espionage, counter-intelligence, assassinations, and political kidnappings. Admission was limited to veteran soldiers of proven loyalty, chosen for their discipline, skill, and devotion. In this way, the Cohors became the Serenissima’s most trusted safeguard, defending Venice not only on the battlefield, but also in the shadows. Membership in the Cohors was never granted lightly. Only the most loyal veterans of the Republic could be entrusted with its secrets, serving Venice where silence and sacrifice were demanded above all.
