Part of the Middle Ages community. The Ecclesiastical State, better known as The Papal States, is the direct holding of the Pope and the Catholic Church. Located in what is considered modern day Italy, it is led by the Vicar of Christ, Pope Longinus. The Catholic state seeks to unite Western Europe against the heathen horde after the Third Crusade during the year of our lord 1196. His Holiness’ Ponitifcal Swiss Guard serve as the elite guard to the Pope and are comprised of men from all across the Catholic nations of Europe. Their tasks include the dispensation of heretics, heathens, and the wellbeing of high ranking Church individuals. Dioceses all across the old world are headed by bishops and cardinals of The Ecclesiastical State. We are the visible face of Christ within the genre.
