Chief of the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces The Chief of the General Staff is the highest-ranking professional military officer in the Mongolian Armed Forces. The position operates under the authority of the Commander-in-Chief and serves as the principal military advisor on defense and security matters. The Chief is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing military operations, as well as ensuring the overall combat readiness of the armed forces during peacetime. This includes implementing operational orders, directives, training standards, and force preparedness. In times of war, the Chief of the General Staff directs military operations in accordance with the orders of the Commander-in-Chief, overseeing strategic and operational command of the armed forces.
