77th "Liberty" Division [SPEC] #4252966
Description
"Liberty Warriors" Nicknamed "The Lost Battalion", these brave men rushed into battle in the Argonne forest, believing French forces and American brigades to be securing their flanks. However, due to a radio cut, the 77th was not informed when all other units pulled out of the forest. The Battalion was surrounded. For Six days they fought, suffering no supplies, constant enemy attacks, and even a brief artillery barrage from their own men, when they messed up the coordinates. Luckily, a carrier pigeon, named Cher Ami, carried this message to American lines from the 77th: "WE ARE ALONG THE ROAD PARALLEL 276.4. OUR ARTILLERY IS DROPPING A BARRAGE DIRECTLY ON US. FOR HEAVENS SAKE STOP IT". With the deliverance of this message, the artillery stopped, and soon relief forces began to arrive. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Special Unit of the United States Army Max Members: 20
