British Empire: The Church of England #4295960
Description
■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬๑۩๑▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ Established in 1534 by King Henry VIII of England, the Church of England has been the supreme authority in all ecclesiastical matters in Great Britain. Prior to the establishment of the Church of England, the British Isles answered to the Roman Pontiff, better known as the Pope, for religious matters. Due to this, the Pope was the only one permitted to allow a divorce between Henry VIII and Katherine of Ar.gon, thus making his Chancellor, Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, who was charged with getting the divorce accepted by the Pope, fall out of favour, ultimately leading to the downfall of Roman Catholicism in England. ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬๑۩๑▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫: His Majesty, King George III 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐛𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐲: The Most Reverend and Right Honourable Cornwallis ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬๑۩๑▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■
