Description
Styper is a christian metal band from California. Formed in 1983. Stryper enjoyed great success during the mid-late 1980s, with one Platinum and two Gold records, Before breaking up in 1992. 12 years later they reunite in 2003 and have released 2 Albums since. The name "Stryper" comes from Isaiah 53:5- "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." Stryper's logo is Black and Yellow stripes. Once the band embraced the name of Stryper, drummer Robert Sweet created a backronym which is: Salvation Through Redemption, Yielding Peace, Encouragement, and Righteousness. The members are Michael Sweet (Guitar) Oz Fox (Guitar) Robert Sweet (Drums) Tim Gaines (Bass guitar) Tracy Ferrie (New Bass guitar). You dont have to be religious to join this group.
