It is this Regiment's duty to inform the Empire’s soldiers about these regiments, and enlist them into their causes. —————————————————————————————— The Grenadier Guards trace their origins back to 1656, when King Charles II was living in exile after the English Civil War. While staying in Bruges, he gathered a small regiment of loyal soldiers to act as his personal bodyguard. These men formed what was then known as Lord Wentworth’s Regiment. When Charles returned to England in 1660 and reclaimed the throne, the regiment came back with him and became part of the newly restored army. A few years later, it was combined with another unit and eventually became known as the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards. —————————————————————————————— "Honi soit qui mal y"
