Description
The Medical component of Defence (French: Composante ######### is part of the Belgian armed forces. This in addition to the air, land and navy component. Major General Pierre Neirinckx has been Chief of Staff since 22 April 2015. The service offers medical support for its members, during domestic and foreign operations. Other tasks are: participating in humanitarian operations, support in the context of training and training and providing assistance to the nation. The license plate of the medical component is the escula monkey (herald's staff with winding snake) adorned in a wreath of oak and laurel. The license plate was assigned and described in the Royal Decree of 6 June 1847. The original flag of the medical component is kept in the command center and was determined in Royal Decree No 8555 of 24 October 1961
