Description
"No Friends, But The Mountains" The Peshmerga have historically been Kurdish guerrilla forces combating the ruling power in the region of what is now Iraqi Kurdistan. Peshmerga is a collective designation for armed Kurdish national movements. Originally, it was Kurdish soldiers from Iraq and Iran who united to form the independent Kurdish Mahabad Republic in 1946, with its leader Mulla Mustafa Barzani, who obeyed Kurdish First President Qazi.
