Description

𝐀𝐄𝐓𝐎𝐒 ▬ 🦅 ▬ The Aetos (Greek: Aetoi, meaning “Eagles”) were a rugged ancient Greek tribal people said to inhabit the rocky uplands and coastal ridges surrounding the territories allied to the powerful city-state of Taras in southern Magna Graecia. Known for their fierce independence and keen eyesight in battle—traits that earned them the symbolic name of the eagle—the Aetos were renowned as swift hill fighters and scouts who guarded the mountain passes and coastal approaches that led toward Tarantine lands. Though tribal in structure and governed by warrior elders, they swore a sacred oath of loyalty to the Tarantine state, serving as auxiliary warriors and frontier guardians for Taras.
