Description
The State Security Police operate as the enforcement arm responsible for implementing national security directives at the operational level. While functioning within the broader State Security framework, the SSP’s primary responsibility is the direct protection of political security, counterintelligence enforcement, and the neutralization of threats to state sovereignty. The unit exercises lawful investigative authority under national security and counterespionage legislation. The core mission of the State Security Police is to identify, investigate, and suppress activities that endanger national security. This includes espionage, subversion, separatism, terrorism, and the unlawful acquisition or dissemination of state secrets. Personnel are authorized to conduct surveillance, detentions, interrogations, evidence collection, and protective security operations in accordance with legal procedures.
