1st Line Company; 5th Line Battalion KGL. The Line Companies, or Center/Battalion Companies made up the backbone of every Line Battalion. Trained in the manner of Line Infantry, Line Companies were expected to hold their own against whatever the enemy threw at them. The Line Companies of the KGL were renowned for being some of the best troops in the British Army, vastly experienced and brave, the KGL held its own throughout all conflicts available during the Napoleonic Wars.
