The goal of life is eudaimonia, clarity and lucidity. Freedom from the fog of false belief, mindlessness, folly and conceit. Eudaimonia is achieved by living in accord with nature. Arrogance is caused by false judgments of value. Eudaimonia is human flourishing and depends on self-sufficiency. One may progress towards eudaimonia through ascetic practice. Break free from wealth, fame, power. These have no place in nature. Think of Diogenes, the image of Cynics. Be shameless and impudent and deface the nomos of society. Laws. Customs. Social conventions of which man takes for granted. Break them.
