Description
The Denten National Guard is responsible for providing security to the state in the time of a crisis, such as a state emergency. The guard is advised by a Major General who is appointed by the governor, and confirmed by the senate. The governor also serves as the Commander-In-Chief of the guard. The governor, lieutenant governor, or the chief of state has the power to deploy the guard in the time of a crisis. The establishment of the guard is documented and defined in Article IX of the state constitution.
