Description
The United States Army saw extensive combat in the Vietnam War, starting with the arrival of paratroopers to provide base security operations on May 5th, 1965. The army continued to provide the primary fighting force in the II, III, and IV Corps tactical zones. The army departed Vietnam on March 10th, 1972. This was the last American ground combat force to leave Vietnam.
