Description

Terra Mariana (“Land of Mary”) was established in 1207 following the Northern Crusades. Conceived as a Christian dominion in the eastern Baltic, it developed into a medieval confederation made up of several semi-autonomous territories ruled by prince-bishops, archbishops, and the Livonian Order a branch of the Teutonic Knights. The confederation served to consolidate ecclesiastical and military authority across Livonia, Courland, and Semigallia, providing a unified structure for governance, crusading efforts, and the spread of Christianity throughout the region.

Growth

Growth history is still building. We hold one measurement for this entry. A trend needs at least two, taken days apart — so this will fill in on its own rather than being estimated. We do not publish numbers we have not measured.
