Description
The Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corps (MVAC) provides 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Advanced Life Support (ALS) service to the Villages of Mineola, Garden City and the surrounding communities. MVAC consists of 1 headquarters, 3 ALS ambulances, 1 ALS Fly Car, 3 Fast Response Chiefs Cars. We are a 911 emergency ambulance service, which responds to medical emergencies. Generally, we do not provide this service, unless an extreme situation exists. Please contact the Office of the Chief to gain more information. MVAC is setup to handle all medical emergencies as well as major incidents including school bus accidents, response to haz-mat incidents, and major traumas. We receive just as much training as paid departments, if not more from time to time. In fact many of our EMT's / AEMT's work with paid ambulance companies. We respond in the 911 system.
