Italy became an Empire under the rein of Victor Emmanuel I declared himself Emperor of the Empire of Italy Becoming Victor Emmanuel I of the Empire Italy and he merged the Kingdom of Sardinia with the Empire of Italy he reformed the Italian Army into the of best Armies in Europe and he signed alliance with Napoleon Bonaparte and the First French Empire and he would send troops to fight in the Napoleonic Wars on the French Side of the War. C. 1805
