Description
Athenian Gymnasium "Experience, Endurance, Improvement" Youths of Athens Recruitment Process: Joining the social link. The Gymnasium was a public institution in many Greek City-States of the Classical Period. It was mainly used for the physical aspects, however also for socializing and engaging in intellectual pursuits. Men whilst training on the Gymnasium grounds were seen as tributes to the Patronage of the the Gymnasium, which in Athens, was Heracles, Hermes and, additionally in Athens, Theseus.
