The Clan Macnaughton (also spelled Macnaughten) are amongst the Scottish clans who claim descent from the early Pictish rulers of the Mormaer of Moray. The name Nectan (Naughton) means pure or clear and was considered a Royal name in pre-Scotland Pictland. Its Clan Tartan and Kilt is Red with Green lining. The Warriors of this Clan offer protection to settlers and lowland villages.
