Protesters Against SOPA/PIPA #484464
Description
We are the protesters of SOPA/PIPA and we stand UNITED! Must stop SOPA/PIPA! We must stop SOPA/PIPA or ROBLOX might be SHUT DOWN! I REPEAT, SHUT DOWN! What is SOPA and PIPA? These are two bills that threaten to censor (block your access to) websites that have a single piece of copied material. ROBLOX especially risks this because its users upload content that is usually copied. The purpose of this group is to explain why the stance of ROBLOX is in firm opposition to the passage of SOPA. Here are three reasons: SOPA would prevent the natural and necessary replacement of old distribution mechanisms with new and efficient ones. Content producers are actually enjoying larger audiences and revenues more now than before the advent of the Internet era, so SOPA would actually undermine the protection of artists, not strengthen it. SOPA would grant broad authority to individuals, allowing a single judge to shutdown entire sites rather than the offending content.
