Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) is the operational arm of the State Fire Commission, established in 1979. We’re made up of more than 200 fire brigades across Tasmania, 350 career firefighters and 5000 volunteers. As a dynamic and diverse organisation, we provide a range of services across community education and emergency response, including: ‣ Bush and urban fire fighting ‣ Fire investigation ‣ Fire prevention and risk mitigation, including fuel reduction ‣ Road crash rescue in urban areas ‣ Hazardous materials incident response ‣ Alarm monitoring ‣ Community education on bushfires and home fire safety
