[!] The Allentown Police Department ERT (Emergency Response Team) is a progressive, dedicated, and well trained specialized unit charged with resolving high crisis/threat situations. ERT is a combination of three specific teams: Tactical, Counter Sniper, and Crisis Negotiations. ERT is deployed to the following types of incidents: Hostage Rescue Operations Barricaded Subjects Execution of High Risk Search and Arrest Warrants Active Shooter Incidents Apprehension of Armed/Dangerous Subjects Crowd Control or Riot Situations Dignitary Protection Operations Any situation in which specialized Team equipment, vehicles, or tactics would be beneficial [!] THIS GROUP IS NOT IN SERVICE.
