The British Board of Film Classification (British Board of Film Classification, previously the British Board of Film Censors), is a non-governmental organisation, founded by the film industry in and responsible for the national classification and censorship of films exhibited at cinemas. (such as television shows, trailers, adverts, public Information/campaigning films, menus, bonus content etc.) released on physical media within the United Kingdom. It has a restriction requirement to classify all Films released on DVD, Blu-ray and to a lesser extent.The British Board of Film Classification is also the designated regulator for the forthcoming UK age-verification scheme.
