Description
"The Springbok Party" "A Party Of The People." The "Springbok Party" was originally formed as a splinter party from the original United Party, after their unexpected victory in the 1948 general elections, unhappy with the United Party's appeasement to the Afrikaners and National Party. The Party was formed by a large group of White and Coloured United Party MPs, hoping to integrate minorities and end the political turmoil and power vacuum within South Africa. The Progressive United Party primarily focuses on votes from British settlers and Coloured people, somewhat unpopular with the Afrikaners. The Party is Socially Liberal, with some welfare policies. It's place on the political spectrum is centre-left.
