Description
Military Assistance Command Vietnam, or MACV for short, was the major command formation for all American forces in the conflict. Activated on February 8th, 1962, as the American role in the conflict continued to escalate, MACV oversaw major military formations from all branches and coordinated many large-scale operations. MACV was eventually disbanded on March 29th, 1973, following the drawdown of American forces in the conflict.
