Description

The Grant County Regional Hospital was created in 1997 when Grant County purchased several failing hospitals & their properties, sold the properties and reformed the institutions into one medical network. In 1998 construction concluded on a new hospital complex in the state capital city of Jasper. In early 2000 a measure was struck down by voters to open a secondary location in the city of Evergreen for a substantial tax raise. The Marion State Legislature approved a plan to allow private investment in the county-ran healthcare and medical systems. Today, the Grant County Regional Hospital acts as the county-level healthcare and emergency medical services resource for Grant County, with limited private, state and federal backing.
