In '62, India commenced aggressive actions against the portuguese dominion of Goa. Soon after, influenced by the wave of independence spreading through the continent, guerrilla groups were formed in Portuguese provinces in Africa, demanding independence. A violent, dramatic guerrilla war would develop throughout the next 13 years, ending in a ceasefire with the Carnations Revolution in '74.
