Description
Formed in Plock in 1807, this regiment was comprised of many Polish veterans who served in the Prussian army. The regiment was renown for its many valiant and incredible feats in battle, such as winning the battle of Ocana with only bayonets, and holding off 4000 British Soldiers with just 150 men in the battle of Fuengirola, and even fighting in Russia, where they took part in Czaszniki and Krasnoi. Their last engagement was when they fought in the battle of Leipzig. The 4. Pułk Piechoty were one of the most decorated Polish regiments in the Army of the Duchy of Warsaw, and were also inspected by Marshal Davout and Napoleon himself.
