Description
The West Virginia National Guard (WVNG) is a joint-force organization with headquarters located in the state's capital, Charleston. The Adjutant General is Maj. Gen. MRtcuty445. The WVNG is comprised of the West Virginia Army National Guard, West Virginia Air National Guard and West Virginia Military Authority. The WVNG works diligently to secure and strengthen the Mountain State against all threats and to enhance our national defense both at home and abroad. During times of national emergency, National Guard members may be called into active federal service by the President of the United States. During peacetime, the National Guard is commanded by the Governor. In its state role, the National Guard assists local law enforcement agencies during emergencies at the direction of the governor. Currently, the WVNG has been deployed by the Governor to the City of Princeton to bring under control a viral outbreak plaguing the local area.
