𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐬 - 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐎𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐲𝐬 "Greys Company" The New Orleans Greys, which later was known as the "1st Texas Infantry", was raised on October 13, 1835, as a Texian volunteer regiment at the Siege of Bexar. The regiment joined the Texian Army on October 22, 1835. The regiment was used all the way to the Civil War where it was known as the "1st Texas Infantry" or better known as "The Ragged Ol' First". It disbanded shortly after the end of the Civil War. They saw action during the Siege of Bexar all the way up to the Battle Of San Jacinto. Regiment Cap: 10
