The Committee reviews containment procedures, operational practices, and experimental proposals to determine whether Foundation resources—including Class-D Personnel—are being used appropriately and responsibly. Although its purpose is occasionally misunderstood or underestimated, the Ethics Committee plays a vital role in maintaining accountability throughout the Foundation and holds significant influence over decisions involving personnel welfare, containment policy, and operational conduct.
