𝐄𝐫𝐚: French Revolutionary Wars (1792-1802) The Kingdom of Sardinia was one of the largest Italian States in the Holy Roman Empire, bordering France, the Austrian-owned Milan, Genoa, Parma and Switzerland. It contained the regions of Savoy, Piedmont, Sardinia, Aosta, Monferrat, Saluzzo and Nice. However, the French Army under Napoleon Bonaparte invaded Sardinia and managed to defeat the Sardinians and occupied the Mainland Savoyard territories, leaving only Sardinia as the only region left that is unconquered by the French. The Sardinians had to make a choice, to either ally with the French or seek revenge back. The Reale Esercito Sardegna were one of the most bravest armies during the French Revolutionary Wars, with them even winning two defensive battles against the best French Generals at Piedmont at the time.
