MC Constabulary #511061198
Description
The Mountclair State Police (MSP) was established in 1921 following a series of transportation accidents and organized crime activity that local law enforcement agencies were unable to effectively combat across state lines. The Mountclair State Legislature created the agency to provide a professional, statewide police force responsible for protecting citizens, enforcing state laws, and ensuring the safe movement of people and commerce throughout Mountclair. Originally consisting of fewer than 100 troopers patrolling rural highways on motorcycles and horseback, the agency quickly expanded as Mountclair's population grew. During the 1940s and 1950s, the MSP modernized its training academy, adopted radio communications, and established specialized investigative units to address major crimes, narcotics trafficking, and highway safety.
