Description

The Ministry of Interior Affairs (အတွင်းဝန်, Atwin Wun) held sway within the walls of the palace, closer to the monarch than any other. As guardians of the royal household and arbiters of palace affairs, these ministers filtered the endless petitions and reports before they reached the king’s eyes. To control the flow of information was to control the very perception of the monarch, and in this power lay immense influence. The Atwin Wun ensured that the sanctity of the palace remained unbroken, and that the king ruled from a position of unchallenged authority. Also overseeing the delicate balance of provincial administration. . Combining palace authority with internal governance, the Atwin Wun stood as the guardian of the kingdom’s stability and the sanctity of its monarchy.
