Description
Origins The guild’s origins trace back to 63 BCE during the conspiracy of Catiline Conspiracy. According to forbidden records hidden beneath Rome’s catacombs, a circle of senators, augurs, and former military scouts discovered that several noble houses were using assassination, bribery, and occult rites to destabilize the Republic for personal power. Public trials failed. Witnesses vanished. Legions could not act without causing civil war. So a secret solution was born. A covert order was formed beneath the Temple of Luna on the Aventine Hill: spies from the eastern provinces, Numidian poisoners, disgraced Praetorians, and scholars of forbidden religions. Their purpose was simple: “To erase the hand before it strikes Rome.” They became the Eclipsis Court.
