Royal Military Police (RMP) The Royal Military Police (RMP) is the official policing branch of the British Army, tasked with maintaining law, order, and discipline across all military personnel and installations. Known for their distinctive red berets, RMP soldiers — nicknamed “Redcaps” — carry out duties ranging from traffic control and camp security to criminal investigations and close protection. RMP personnel are trained to operate both on base and in operational theatres, working alongside civilian and military authorities to uphold the Army’s standards of conduct. Their responsibilities include: • Enforcing military law and discipline • Conducting criminal and disciplinary investigations • Providing convoy escorts and traffic control • Close protection for VIPs and high-value assets • Battlefield policing and detainee handling In this group, we aim to recreate the professionalism, structure, and operational realism of the RMP — offering members the chance to train.
