𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐂𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐑𝐘 𝐹𝑢̈𝑟 𝑑𝑎𝑠 𝑉𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑑! The King's German Legion was founded on December 1803 after Napoleon's invasion and occupation of Hanover with the Convention of Artlenburg signed in July. The Hanoverian Army fled and went to England to serve their Monarch, and repel the French from their home territory. In the Napoleonic Wars, the Legion participated in campaigns across Hanover, Pomerania, Copenhagen, Walcheren, and the Peninsular War under Sir John Moore; and the retreat to Corunna; the Peninsular Campaign under the Duke of Wellington, including the battles of Bussaco, Barrosa, Albuera, Ciudad Rodrigo, Salamanca, Venta del Pozo, Vittoria, San Sebastian, Nivelle, Orthez, Sicily, and the eastern parts of Spain, Northern Germany and Göhrde.
