-The Timurid Empire- #51900908
Description
The Timurid Empire (1370–1507) was a Persianate, Turco-Mongol empire founded by the conqueror Timur (Tamerlane). At its height, the empire spanned modern-day Central Asia, Iran, Afghanistan, and parts of Iraq, Syria, and the Caucasus. While forged through brutal military conquest, the empire later transitioned into a massive cultural hub, sparking the Timurid Renaissance. Based in capitals like Samarkand and Herāt, this era produced monumental turquoise-tiled architecture, vibrant miniature painting, and major advancements in astronomy and literature, eventually laying the cultural foundation for the later Mughal Empire.
