This is from the first GC BA, I lead this regiment so the group is here for memories. 𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐆𝐔𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐘 𝐸𝑣𝑖𝑙 𝑏𝑒 𝑡𝑜 ℎ𝑖𝑚 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑙 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑘𝑠. The 1st Regiment of Foot Guards was founded in 1665 (officially) but their lineage can be traced back to 1656. In 1665, the regiment combined with Russell's Regiment of Guards to form the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards. In the Napoleonic Wars, the 1st fought at Corunna, Walcheren, Barrossa, Nive, and Bayonne in the Peninsular War. At Waterloo, they fought at Quarte-B and retained control of the area. Two days later, the 1st held Hougoumont against the French onslaught. After that, the Imperial Guard comprised of 6,000 Frenchmen moved in two massive columns, and one split off to face the British.
