Description
From 2007-2015, mostly in December but sometimes for other stuff, Roblox would create giftbox hats that'd later be given away to people who met secret requirements (hinted at in names, descriptions, sometimes even data hidden in the item itself!). Then they'd be sold for a while, then "opened" soon after, giving owners another item that was inside. The Gift Collectors were one of several groups dedicated to them; gathering places to puzzle them out, race to figure them out first, theorycraft, and even help others out with trickier ones. Nowadays, Roblox themselves no longer do these giveaways. The tradition continues in individual games and communities, but obviously hunting all THOSE would be crazy; they're best left to their own fandoms. So, this group is a relic of the past, pretty much kept as a nostalgic archive.
