Description
39th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry (Bengal Volunteers) Following the Sepoy Mutiny, the Presidency armies came under the direct control of the United Kingdom Government and there was a widespread reorganization of the Bengal Army that saw the Bengal Native Infantry regiments reduced to 45 from the previous 74. The regiment along with her sisters saw action in China, Afghanistan, and Burma while being the backbone of the Raj's Army.
