πππππππ πππ πππππ Being one of the most venerated regiments, the 33rd was raised in Gloucester in 1702 and was officially named the 33rd Regiment of Foot in 1782, being the Duke of Wellington's regiment in its time. The 33rd would go on to see extensive action in India and the Battles of Waterloo and ππ’ππ‘ππ-B, where the regiment was noted for having an impressive rate of fire and accuracy despite using linear formations.
